This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

- Payment processors: If you donate, our payment processor shares limited transaction information with us (e.g., donation amount, donor name, confirmation status) but not your full payment card number.
- Social media platforms: If you interact with our social media links or embedded content, those platforms may collect information according to their own privacy policies.
1.4 Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers, health records, or financial account numbers) beyond what is necessary to process a donation through our payment processor.

We do not share adoption applicant information with unrelated third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Animal Listings & Public Content
Information about individual animals — including photos, names, breed, age, behavioral traits, and their story — is public content intended for adoption promotion and is not personal information subject to this policy. If a listing or story you submitted (e.g., as a foster or surrendering party) contains your personal details, contact us using the information in Section 11 to request edits or removal.

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to:
- Fulfill the purpose it was collected for (e.g., completing an adoption or donation)
- Meet legal, tax, or accounting requirements
- Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements
Adoption application records may be retained for a limited period after a decision is made, to support follow-up care questions or re-application. You may request earlier deletion, subject to Section 8.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including restricted staff access to our admin systems and encrypted transmission of payment data through our processor. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
